Check Engine Light!

Aight my Check Engine keeps coming on, my mechanic says I need a O2 Sensor! Is this going to get pricey or is it just something small?

Make sure the code is not P0420. If it is, check the cat. converter first. Advance told me I needed on O2 sensor but it was the cat. converter. Nothing was wrong with my sensor.
