6th Gen ('00-'05): Can’t get trans separated from engine
Hey guys I need help. I have removed all the bell housing bolts including the B Bolt, and can not seem to pry the trans from the engine. Tried lifting the engine and prying the bell housing and nothing. Any other tips in getting these two separated? What a nightmare
I'm guessing you're reference to the b bolt is one on backside of engine past the CV axle. If all mounts and brackets are removed odds are it's stuck on the dowel pins as they oxidize to the transmission. Try spraying WD40 r simular to dowels and keep wiggling it should free. Good luck
Correct me if I am wrong but there are only 5 bolts correct? My buddy said that most likely the dowel Pins oxidized like you said or possibly welded themselves to the block. We may try a torch and heat up those areas since aluminum expands fast and wiggle away at it. Also we are keeping the trans attached to the mount because we are not pulling the trans

I want to say there's 6 bolts, 5 which you can remove from the top and 1 of them bolts is also the ground bolt. The other bolt is only accessible from the passenger wheel after you remove the engine/transmission brace which is 5 bolts. Then you will be able to get other with a 3ft extension. Other than that heat and or a punch on the dowels and a pry bar when possible. Good luck
