Are there really any chips out there on the market that actually add horsepower to your car and are worth it. Im looking into maybe buying a chip for my 2003 SS since i dont have the couple grand needed for a supercharger

dont get a chip just get a performance tuner thing, its late i cant think of what its called but it connects right into the computer hub and tunes the car for best horsepower or gas mileage or whatever you choose.

I wouldn't use a "chip"...

if your looking to increase performance with out breaking the bank, look into some basic bolton's like:
1.CAI (Cold air intake)$200+

2.Power Log & Ported exhaust Manifold $300
2.custom tuned PCM $100 + $100 core charge
3. Ubend delete $75 - $100(this is where GM in their infinate wisdom, decided to put the rear O2 sensor on the top of the exhaust thereby creating a "u shaped" bend in the exhaust, see pic below)

4. Skip #3 and just buy a new Down pipe w/ a high flow cat. $170 (or no cat at all ;-P $130 ) i would recommend this route, over just the ubend delete.

all the prices here are rough estimate of retail pricing, you could find these same parts for sale used, either here on the MCF, or on other places that deal with the 3800 platform, such as
http://www.clubgp.com/

I hope this helps!

Are you referring to HP tuners?

i was looking at tuned PCM's but some say you need to buy a new cat back exhaust and CAI like this one. Idk if it matters or not but i have a performance air filter on my car now i took out the stock airbox and put a performance air filter right were the airbox connected. Would i still need to buy a CAI?

What can you tell me about your "performance air filter", can you provide me a link to a web site that sells it?
