'93 trans kick down??
#11
actullay i agree, the original motor is stronger, and the swapping is causing me some trouble cause of the trans, but the story for this swap is that i just bought the truck for a good price and the engine failed, had a brand new rebuilt carb 350 lying around waiting to be swapped in my 79 cutlass, thing is the cutlass is being painted and preped for this summer, and without my truck i have no other means of transport, so i decided to dump in the 350 for now, rebuild the truck 350 meanwhile and probably end up dumping that one in the cutlass or if i fell like it, back in the truck and the carb one in the cutlass lol but thats more work lol

Keep in mind the wiring work you'd have to do to throw an EFI motor into a classic car. Not to mention adapting the fuel tank so you don't starve the fuel supply. Since there's no bowls holding fuel in EFI motors, it's not too hard to starve the motor if the tank is not baffled and you're below 1/4 tank.

Good luck. I'm planning on doing some EFI swaps into some older cars at a later point but I have a lot of knowledge on the subject so I know what I'm getting into. Another option would be to put the TBI intake, heads, etc, and hook up the PCM to the motor you put in your truck and then when you rebuild the other motor you'll have the carbureted setup to put on the motor to put in your Cutlass. Just some more food for thought. It should all bolt right up.

k cool, if i ever plan on doing an EFI swap ill let you know about it, see what you think, i really dont know alot about the EFI's, always been in the carb setups so i dont really know how everything works, but i dont usually start something without knowing what im doing so ill talk to you about it first lol ill probably be doing this this summer.
