84 monte ss with 75 motor

Default 84 monte ss with 75 motor

i have an 84 ss that has a 350 out of a 75 monte carlo and an MV4 tranny out of an 88 el camino... ive had nothing but problems with the starter and flywheel from day one...any suggestions?

MV4 is the id # stamped on my tranny bell housing... It is a 3 speed transmission out of a 1988 chevy el camino...

correction on MV$ it is actually the th350c 3 speed non overdrive tranny that was on the stock 305's

i see. well there are only 2 flywheel tooth count options to my knowledge. you werent to descriptive about the problem you are having. grinding noise? shearing teeth? breaking the gear on the starter? look into the shims on your starter. at least thats where i would start. 350 is a great trans. light, strong, and known for window shattering shifts with a good shift kit. there shouldnt be any issue running one behind a 305. kind of odd that you found one from a late model el camino you would think that car would have the 200 4r.
