Hi i want to do a 4 speed swap on my monte carlo its a 71, i was just wondering what 4 speed would be a good one to go with, a T-10, Muncie or a Saginaw. Any pointers? thanks.

 

I would go muncie, I just went through my 3rd Saginaw in my '65 SS Impala, and I don't bang it around!!! I just bought a M20 Muncie off ebay for 850.00, very nice trans, still need to fine-tune my clutch and all though. I would research whether it would be difficult to swap in T-10 or not. as far as my Impala, all would fit, but the T-10 would require some driveshaft work, IIRC.

awsome, thank you for the input, i was thinking t-10 but i dont know if i have the money for a custom drive shaft.
