Default 3800 performance shift kit

Hi, I have the 3800 performance shift kit. I have it set on stage 2 of three which says is a mild improvement and may screech the tires in the right weather. Well I bearly noticed an improvement and i think I may way to go to stage three which is for racing. It says that drivers sometimes find it annoying on how "hard" it shifts but with the very little gain I've noticed, Im not sure if thats all true. I was wondering if anyone has this shift kit and has had it on stage 3. Whats it feel like? Is it that unpracticle for a daily driver? Thanks!!

I had my shifting altered in the PCM tune for my car. It now shifts a little more aggressively.

Do it! It's not so bad. People sometimes make shift kits sound like they're a miracle mod or something when in reality it's one small step of many to make your car faster.

Yeah, I really think I want to. My dads cutlass had a rebuilt turbo 350 with a shift kit and I LOVE how hard it shifts. I wouldnt mind having that as a daily I really want to feel the difference with a real fast shift and the quick tire chirp

By "right weather" they probably mean when it's raining and the roads are wet. Which in that case my stock LS does that. But really, shift kits aren't going to make that big of a change.

When I recently had mine rebuilt at a shop. He updated the computer as well as change up the springs etc....and it shifts real clean and sharp....So now, If I nail it It'll spin as long as i allow it. (dont like burn'n up my tires)As well as chirp em when it hits 2nd........

I dont normally drive my Monte, as now its the mrs daily driver....He told me it will help the longevity of the trans as well as help with fuel mileage....

He did it for $1000.00 Complete rebuild, Hot flush the lines and the trans upgrade...

I havent driven it enough to consciously check what RPMs it shifts at...
But its certainly healthy !
