I just replaced the cylinder heads with new ones and all gaskets, she seems to be running good except for VERY high idle. any ideas? We have been working on our girl for two months now, we love her but we are running low on patience.........any suggestions???

L67 swap

Realistically though, have you checked the IAC valve?

First thing I'd check are vacuum leaks. Get a can of starting fluid, with the car idling, mist it around all vac connections and such, listen for a change in idle.

I changed an injector once on the 3100 Grand Am and silly me, I forgot to hook up the fat vac line for the brake booster (the idle was CRAZY HIGH)!

It could be a damaged line, something forgotten, any list of crazy stuff.

You may want to check all the all the connectors too. Sometimes they don't lock together because of the rubber in them or maybe you missed one.

It was a stupid thing!!!! I let the upper intake gasket slip on one side, could have kicked myself...Anyway she is running like a charm, has a little miss, and had onstar diagnosis this and they agree. I think I may have knocked a wire loose or maybe a spark plug....that's minor will tinker with her some tomorrow hopefully the rain will stop. I appreciate all the help and input!!! Thanks for everything....
