Default 2005 monte carlo rocker arm

Hi I recently had some loud clicking noise in my car about a month after oveheating. I removed the rocker covers and I noticed that one of the rocker arms had sheared the threads in the aluminum head and was sitting in the rocker cover when I removed it.

I was wondering if it can be repaired with a heli-coil. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with heli-coils. I was on the heli-coil site and they say it can be used for the head bolts so I was thinking taht it can be used for the rocker cover bolts as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tex

Helo coils were a great innovation in my opinion... Since its for just repairing a rocker "cover" bolt (valve cover) I dont see it being a problem!

It's not the rocker cover bolt that broke it's the actual rocker bolt itself that sheared the threads in the head. I know that I need to replace the rocker bolt because the are torqued to the yeild point.

That maybe a whole nother issue then.. Since its the rocker arm stud...
