Default 2000 Monte SS With the need for more power!

I have Had my 2000 Monte SS for a year now and ive been debating on wether to sell it and by a bigger block chevy car for my project car or to stay with my monte. I have only managed to do a cold air intake highflow cat with a side exit exhuast and performance plugs. Ive been thinking of doing and engine swap but this being my first monte im not sure exactly what options i have to do a swap. I dont want to gut the whole monte in regards to having to upgrade suspension engine mounts etc. What options are there for swaps and if there are not many what things can i do to my current 3800 series II motor to really get this thing haulin'!

General Mod Plan for 3800s

That's a thread from the intake/headers/exhaust section.

It lays out the basics of what is available for these engines, and what path to take depending on what your ultimate goal (and budget) is.

There's tons you can do with these engines, and they are capable of producing a lot of power.

HP - Cam Chart. The top 5 HP numbers
^^ that thread gives an example of what HP different mod combos are capable of.

There's a lot of information out there, worth taking a few minutes to search for it.

It also depends on your mileage as well.

I'd go supercharged myself, smaller pulleys, port and polish a set of L67 heads, have bumpin tell if you if the rods can handle that, upgrade the transmission to handle all of that, and put on a set of drag radials

And why exactly is there a poll asking me what color my car is? Color doesn't determine speed... should have put that part over in the General Monte Carlo section! It's superior blue, color code 22U if you really want to know though
