6th Gen ('00-'05): 2000 Monte Carlo SS - In Need of Transmission. Interchange Guidance?
thats wiered i thought the trans from the 6th gen and 7th gen share the same trans i didnt know that there are some subtle differences to the same trans? talk about a stumper i wonder what is the defferences are?
13 month old thread gets necro'd, lands in my email inbox, brings me back..
My poor monte is sitting outside, under a car cover ,retired, until I can buy a new tranny and engine for it. This tranny in it now is about done. The engine has random misfires in all cylinders and after changing out the coils, ICM, plugs and wires, as well as doing a compression test, I cannot find the problem.

VERY interesting.
I don't recall if it started after I did it or not, but I had to repair a fuel line and changed the filter in the process. I know I am not losing gas from the seams where I replaced the (vinyl?) line, but maybe the filter is bad? That's a good suggestion, Chibi, and I'll check it out whenever I decide to go ahead and dig into the monte.
