I bought a Vortec Cyclone and a short ram intake for my 96 Monte Z34. I was gettin 21 mpg highway and now I get 29-30 mpg highway, and for both together I think I only paid like $35 with shipping and everything. That's also with 3 crappy injectors, I've also freed up my exhaust a little too. What kind of car you got?

Of course there are- anything that improves the efficiency of the engine will typically yield better horsepower and fuel mileage. However, you have to consider that there are usually downsides (if it had no drawbacks, you have to ask yourself- why didn't GM do it in the first place). For example, installing an aftermarket intake gets rid of all the factory silencing, and makes the engine louder. Replacing the exhaust with a more freely flowing unit will help- but at the expensive of increasing the volume of exhaust noise. Same goes for most any other engine upgrades.

I thought it was only legal to block laser, and that it was illegal to block radar? I remember the highest radar/laser detector we sold at circuit city had an optional output for a laser jammer (can't remember the brand name off the top of my head).

Your stock filter must've been super plugged up...

No it was pretty decent actually, it's all the other crap that affected my gas mileage. All the injectors needed to be replaced (I've only done 3 due money shortage), it's gettin pretty worn out with 187,*** miles, the fuel filter was totally muffed (the filter inside moved back n forth), I've always had cruise but mine doesn't work (bad turn signal switch STILL, used to not havin cruise now) and the car sat with 1/2 tank for awhile so there was probably crappy gas in it when I bought it. All that little stuff that added up, plus I was doin more city drivin then too. The 3.4 is only rated for like 24 highway anyway (if in perfect running condition), but the last 6,000 miles or so have been almost ALL highway miles

I don't see any ads. It could just be your browser, a lot of times they highlight words and make them ads.
