From all the reading i have found the l36 and l67 doesnt bolt up.
I think My LA1 TB is 57mm.
i could get the lx5 TB but its out of stock everywhere and i need a adapter plate.

Yeah the upgrade to the 60* engines is the same as our stock TB.

I wonder if you would benefit from looking at a 3500 top swap for that car.

I was thinking about that, but i am planning on leaving the exhaust alone and worry the exhaust wont flow very well. I am hauling my kids around in it and the loud noise would terrorize the kids.....

At the most, exhaust-wise will just be the u bend delete.

Completely my bad
I forgot you have a 3400 powered Monte (I was thinking a 3800). My comment was incorrect. Strike my comment from the record please :p

I don't know the throat size off hand of the 3400 engine (or even the 3100), but I think it's safe to say a 65mm throttle body IS bigger then the stock on.

As for exhaust sound/noise there are probably better flowing systems that won't generate a significant change in sound, but you'd have to look.

The bigger options for the LA1 so far that i have found are the TCE 62mm or 65mm TB or the lx5 65mm. Also i have found the 3100 benefits highly from installing the 3400 intakes and tb.
I would love the exhaust, but i cant imagine a quieter high flow exhaust. maybe i can grab the stock system off of the 3.8 and have a shop fabricate it.

I've read about using the 3400 UIM and T-body on a 3100 car (some even went as far as using the heads). At one point I was mildly tempted to get a 3400 UIM and T-body, that was at 180,000 miles when I had to change the head gaskets on the Grand Am. At this point, nah, I'll just run it how she is.
