I lost my stock assembly, and have recently been having trouble with my car.. i've had the K&N kit on there for a long time, so i can't seem to find the original. I'd like to replace it back to stock to see if the K&N is causing the issue. Reason being, i've been getting MAF and ECT sensor codes popping up again.. now the thing is, last time, they both went at the same time.. what are the odds that both of those are going to go at the same time TWICE?

So i'd like to purchase another stock intake.

 

K&N intakes have oiled filters, if you over-oil you can ruin the MAF.

Some people on here might have their stock intakes still to sell you. If not, try a junkyard?

 

You have had the K&N kit on the car for a long time, just now got MAF and ECT codes and think it's the K&N kit??? If that was the cause, I would have suspected codes popping within about a month.

As Chibi said, over re-oiling of a K&N filter can mess up a MAF. You can try cleaning the MAF with the MAF cleaner at the parts store.

BTW - What are the exact codes? Sometimes a code is mis-leading, the cause is not what it claims to be (it's something upstream from it). Perhaps these code have a common diagnostic point....
