wish i had read that before i waxed my car a few days ago. either way, i got a super shine...looks like a burgundy tinted mirror, but when you get closer you can see chips in the paint and stuff, but who's that close anyway? the wax i used is Mother's Carnuba Cleaner Wax, costs about $9 and it was good. i didn't even clean the car, just put it on, and bye bye dirt. riding that clean, i had to turn down women, when it's usually the other way around! lol

i just waxed my car for the first time last week, i never every waxed my truck.

its a long process, because i clay barred it then waxed it(2 coats) took almost all day to do it, but i was also working too..just pulled it into our back bay and ran back there when i had time

but it looks good

i also rain-x'd the windshield too, that stuff works really good

as for the wax i used meguiars tech wax, very happy with it

When I do mine it does take about 12 hours or more. I wash then dry it, then clay bar, strip it, polish it, wax it, then go over it again with detailer. Do the the wheels, tires, and all trim. I'm exhausted when I'm done but it's worth it. I only use Meguiars products.

I've used a lot of waxes over the years. Some you can't even buy anymore.

Waxes like Mother's and Mequiars are good products. I happen to like both very much.

A product I will not use on my car(s) at all is something ArmorAll sells. I've seen what ArmorAll's vinyl protectant does to vinyl, leather, anything rubber. I used to use it on my tires. And everytime I'd get to a car show or cruise-in my tires would be brown. ArmorAll ruined the dash in my girlfriend's '81 Monte. I had to replace the entire dash.

They say a clean, waxed car or truck get's better gas mileage then a dirty one.

I wax my car way more than necessary, but get compliments from EVERYONE on the mirror finish, especially for the black color. I have to say, nanowax is the best ive used.
