Default Take Apart 05 MC headlights (break seal)

i've been wanting to paint inside my headlight housing black... but after reading many how-to's on other vehicles ( i.e civics, focus') .. it seems the MC headlights do not come apart as easily as other makes/models...

has anyone taken the lens/housing apart for their 05 MC.. if so could you please tell me how u do it with out melting the lens brutally. that rubber moulding around the light seems to be a problem..
...
also i'm a professional automotive painter in a bodyshop so i have access to heat guns and heat lamps, bead seal etc. putting headlights in an oven just doesnt seem all that smart to me

im at my body shop now.. just put one headlight under a heatlamp for an hour and used a heat gun around the edge of the lens.. tried prying it off with a small screwdriver and the lens wont budge. grrr, frustration sets in lol

Hi `Troy,
Have you thought about emailing the manufacturer of the
OEM highlight & see `if they can advise on dis-assemblly ?
I tried to find it, but failed again.
I also have seen many `ricers that have done it, but not
on a 6th gen Monte.
Just a suggestion.
Below is a link 2 andysAutoSports, and they have
some decent deals on headlights for 6th Gen Monte's.
Wish U good luck on your `Mod.
Let us know what you `do.....Maybe just get `drunk lol

Ive had this problem too. I think instead of prying, you might have to try to use a razor blade and cut it open.

You probably need to put them in the oven for about 5 minutes. Preheat to 350 degrees, pry a bit, put it back in the over a couple minutes, and repeat till you get them apart. That's what we do with Preludes anyway...
It was an all day project for me when I did the tails on my old Lude.
