i dont think i would mess with the whole seat. seems like it maybe hard to get it off and back on perfect. but i havent really done anything like that before

Pulling the seat compleaty apart really isn't too bad, i have not done it with a monte seat but did with a saturn seat,

just need good set of pliers to open up the metal rings that hold it on and to put them back on, if i am not mystaken the botom didn't even have any hog rings it just kind of clipped into place underneath
thus is why.. go to reash in my pocket and the seat bent...
