Well if you dont want to badge it as an SS because it isnt one, then dont badge it as a RS because it sure as hell isnt one either. Why not just leave it as it is. Badging doesnt make it faster nor does it make it worth any more. Plus dropping 70+ dollars for them is a bit rediculous if you ask me.
That's true as well, but I dropped the LT badges so people didn't think it was the 3.5L. And with RS badges I don't think it will be mistaken for something else, like if I put SS emblems on. RS Montes weren't made, but SS's were. Yeah, I know badging doesn't make it faster or anything other than a bit of an aesthetic touch. The real kicker for me that you nailed head on is in fact the $70+, if they were about $30 I would probably get them, but as it is I will probably wait a few years until I get some other stuff done first, like stripes, painted tails, and a body kit.

I found a set of the Chevy sill covers for an '06 Monte on ebay for my car. I paid $80 shipped for the set.

If I were going to "RS" badge my car it would be for the "Unique-ness" of it. Nothing more. Then one of the firstquestions peoplewould ask would be, "RS? What makes it an RS?" Which is nothing.

So it wouldbe to make my car unique compared to other '06 Montes.Nothing more.

Since RS means Rally Sport, I think the LS or LT models with the slightly nicer suspension from the years before and the obviously nicer 3.5 VVT would not be a bad qualifier for the RS designation. Just a thought.

I like the idea actually. Definitely unique. There is no RS Monte Carlo, so it's not like you're trying to misrepresent the car as an SS or create a phoney limited edition. It's your car, if you want to improve the looks of it by putting RS badges on it, go for it.

The only thing I would do is make sure I tell the truth about the badges if/when I went to sell it.

True, and I don't ever plan on selling the car, but if I ever end up doing so (maybe to buy a new Camaro) I would be sure and tell the potential buyer.
