RE: Has anyone....
i have never done this but i do know it can be done. the big thing here is to make real sure tha tyou have a good seal on it if your tryign to put the SS on it etc... so that you dont get bleed over on to the other parts you dont want that color. for the whole thing i dont think it would be to awful bad.

Not sure if it's exactly the same dye and proceedure with leather, but I have done it on vynil and flexible plastic parts using the vynil dye from a local auto-paint supply shop.
This dye looked like paint, but has the consistency of water. Literally! The piece I did, I was dying the whole piece and didn't have to worry about masking anything off. But I would guess that masking off your emblem with tape wouldn't work very well because of the fine texture and grain of the material. I would think the dye would bleed under the tape pretty bad. But this is just a guess since, like I said, I didn't have to mask anything off.
If you really care about saving that emblem in your headrests, I'd suggest trying to find someone who has done this before. Or practice on some scrap pieces of similar leather before attempting it on your headrests. Because there was not much room for correcting mistakes. At least not on the vynil I did. Leather may or may not be different to work with.
