Default Grills?

Does anyone know where I can get the part number for the front grill that's on the Tony Stewart Monte Carlo? I hate that open space. I looked on GMPartsDirect.com but couldn't find it.

And another thing about that, would it be possible to just get the grill without any emblems and keep the silver emplem that's there now? Thanks!

I got mine from GMpartsdirect.com, p/n 15236535, total cost $133.26. Took about 2-3 weeks to get. The GM grill is plain in the center, and the SLP version has the red bow-tie. If you can't find one thru your GM dealer, try Sara at Kool Chevy in Sturgis. She can find ANYTHING is there is one anywhere. Ph# is (800) 856-9289

I I love my SLP grille that i got! it looks great i got it cuz i didn't like the shield, but i imagine that you could adhere that shield on to the grille in place of the bowtie...maybe it would look ok...if ya like the shield that much

Personally, I HATE the shield. It was the ONLY piece of chrome on the car and looked WAY out of place. The base models have them on the side pillars. If you like them that much, that's an option, or maybe on the front center of the hood.

If you wanted to retain the sheild I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get the GM grille (without the SLP red bowtie, just plain) and then fab up something to mount the sheild too. Find a car with a shredded front end, and maybe see if that piece can be cut out of the front bumper, which is sure to be useless after a front end impact anyway, so no worries about hacking up a good piece. I don't remember if the sheild logo is flat on the back, but if it is, you could probably use some cheap menards/lowes/home depowindow replacement plexiglass to fab up a mount. Dead useful that stuff is.You would have to move it to the front tho, it wouldn't look right behind the grille, even if you cut the front to display the shield alone.

The posts on the back are just plated plastic posts. The GM grill has 2 areas on the grill that are locators that sit into the holes for the shield. No pins, just locators. You would have to do 1 of 3 things: 1. Cut off the posts and use black 3M tape and install it just like the factory did without modifying the TS grill. 2. Leave the posts, drill holes thru the locators in the TS grille, and use 3M tape again. or 3. do #2, but use a stamped automotive retaining nut, and remove the front facia, and install the grille and shield with tape, then install the nuts to make sure the shield won't fall off.
The back of my shield isn't pretty, but it gives you an idea of what the posts are like, Without measuring, they are about .200 dia x 3/4" long.
