Default Emblems

Im looking to replace my rear emblems with black ones. What is the safest way to remove the originals without damaging the car?

Maybe you could try a hair dryer. I think a heat gun would be too hot.

heat guns wont hurt the paint, when i took the logo's off my truck and all the old stickers off our delivery vehicles thats all we used and didn't hurt the paint, we even used razor blades too...but then you have to be really careful

Okay this is how I removed my emblems.

1. take some dental floss and hold it as close to the paint as you can.
2. make a sawing motion with the dental floss as you move across the bottom the emblems (you are "cutting" them off)
3. once you get the major part of the emblem off, there will still be some residue left over
4. i used a credit card to scrape some of this residue off
5. finnaly I used lighter fluid and a clean cloth to get all the residue off. (although this sounds dangerous, it really works well and didn't do anything bad to my paint)

3M also makes a product called Adhesive Remover. You could prob try some of that too

Yellow Monte's dental floss idea and adheasive remover is a common way of doing it and works great. I've never done it myself, but I've seen it done.
