Default RE: Caliper painting

I did mine 2 years ago when I installed drilled rotors, ceramic pads and stainless lines. Of course I had to take the rotors off to do all that. I cleaned the calipers with brake cleaner, hit them with a wire brush, cleaned them again, and used hi temp paint. I used several cans of brake cleaner, and 2 cans of paint and put 2 coats on each caliper, the first one a light coat and the secondmuch heavier. After 2 years they still look good, but are stained causing them to not be as bright looking, which I think is normal. I have wiped them clean before with some brake cleaner, but stopped because it took some paint off. You can look at a pic in my profile. BTW - the lug nut cover on one of my rims came off while I was drivingand I lost it, and now they tell me the wheels are discontinued so I can't get a replacement. SUX!!!!
