Default Question, How do I erase the Garage door code from my 04 Monte?

Ok Sally my 04 Monte is being sold to my son. I would like to clear the Garage door opener code from the Monte's memory. How do I go about doing that? Zack has his own place and won't need it.

If you push the two outside buttons on your Homelink system until the light goes from a steady light to a flashing light, it should clear all stored codes in your system once it starts flashing.

I have also read that if you reprogram the current openers and don't reprogram the car...you should be good to go... That will make the program in the monte null and void.

According to the shop manual, here is how to erase the garage door codes:

To erase programmed channels, hold down the 2 outside buttons until the light on the GDO transmitter begins to flash. Individual channels cannot be erased, but can be reprogrammed using the Garage Door Opener Programming and the Training GDO for Rolling Code Receivers procedures.

I get it. You don't want the kid coming in and checkin' out your stuff while he mods up the '04 to best the Lil' Duece. Right out of the Fast & Furious playbook...

For your sake (and comfort), I hope when junior hands the keys to people to borrow his car, those keys don't include a house key.....
