Break lights dont work
Ok guys i have a 1985 monte carlo 3.8 engine. For some reason a couple months back my brake lights stopped working when breaks are applied. However when i hit my car alarm they light up and when i turn my lights on the one filament lights up but when breaks are applied the second filament does not. I have checked the fuses and have replaced the bulbs andthe brake switch behind the pedal. Now i did hear that changing the signal light switch would help but i have no clue how to get to it or what it looks like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Break lights dont work
chek on the brake lever where ya push the peddel , there is a switch there that needs to be adjusted or pluged back in. as you push the peddel it iwll allow the connection to work for ya.
It could have also gone bad.

see my first guess would have been a brake light switch, but you said you've changed that....maybe make sure you didn't get a bad one...exchange it for another one...other than that my only guess would be relays or something or if it comes to it check wiring...make sure power is gettin back to the taillights when you hit the brakes...get one of those screwdriver things that light up when you touch power
