Default 5 1/4 or 6x9 for rear deck.

I just bought a 06 lt with factory system with no amp. I am looking at cruchfield and thinking of putting Boston acoustics pro50 se 5 1/4 components in the doors but have no idea what to do with the back. My plan is to use a Boston acoustics gta-704 amp to run all 4 speakers as it has speaker level inputs and 70 wats rms x4 at 4ohms or 125 wats rms x4 at 2 ohms. should i just use the ba pro50 se speakers in the rear deck as well? i do plan on putting a sub in at some point like a single 10 or two 8's it wont happen for a while tho. any ideas or recommendations i would like to stay in the $200 range for the rear deck as i will be buying in stages.

Do the 5 1/4 fit on the deck?

i bought some 6x9 and they sound good but the odd shape makes them wear out faster. Could just be that I bought bad Sony speakers but imo the non-round speakers wear out faster. Go with 5 1/4

A guy on here did put them in but his required modification. He Cut and fiber-glassed the door cards. I think it depends on how deep they are. My 6x9 lasted 2+ years but the speakers lost thier thump. Kept mid and high but the bass fell out compared to when they were new.

I think you should go as big as possible for the front doors to get the most midbass from them as you can, the biggest that will bolt in are 6.5's. As for the particular model speakers you're looking at, I have never heard them so can't really call it but I like you idea of sticking with the same brand/model.

I'm not sure where you're getting your info from but I can assure you it's not accurate.

6.5's will bolt right in and require no modification so long as the depth of the driver is not too much.
