ZZP downpipe install
I'm about to buy a downpipe for my 2004 Monte Carlo S/C and was curious about how difficult it is to put in. The car is stock currently and this will probably be the first mod I do but I plan on replacing the whole exhaust at some point. Will this 3" downpipe work with the stock exhaust until I'm ready to change it too? How hard is it to put the downpipe on? It doesn't look to be to challenging but I think I saw someone post about getting a hammer and pounding out the stock bolts? From what I saw when I looked it seemed like it should take about an hour. Does that seem right?
Thanks.
Thanks.

i think chibimike may have had a write up or someone with a blue monte i forget but i think it may be as easy as wd40 the night before maybe heating the bolts when its time to do it and lifting the car up and having breaker bars

I did mine in my driveway, about 1-2 hours. But my bolts were not rusted on as some people have dealt with. Mine was an easy swap. And extra set of hands helped for lining things up and starting nuts/bolts.
Here's some info from my downpipe swap:

I had to outsource mine. My bolts were completely rusted on. I had applied PB blaster two times a night for four nights straight and I still couldn't break one of the bolts free. I had to send it to my local hot rod shop and he had to heat/cool for about 45 minutes on one bolt. Hopefully you get lucky with yours.

Did mine on a lift biggest pain in the *** was heating up the bolts from the original downpipe to the rest of the exhaust. Twisted the em off originally then Heated em up an punched em out. Downpipe install took 15 min used some long extensions and new bolts. Hooked right up to stock pipes if you ordered the one that necks back down to 2.5
