84 - 88 SS Dual Exhaust Question
I have an 88 SS, and from what I remember, years ago, when I had my 84, someone told me to buy a certain year Trans cross member from an El Camino, or Cutlas. The reason wasthat it allows you to run true duals, and the pipes can go under both sides with no problem. Anyone know of one that works?
Thanks Shawn

RE: 84 - 88 SS Dual Exhaust Question
88ss,
A few years ago I had dual exhaust put on my '86 LS. The crossmemeber off of dual exhaust vehicles has two humps that allow the exhaust to stay a little closer to the body to prevent clearance issues. My LS only had single exhaust, so it only had one hump in the crossmember. I had to take off my crossmember, cut/whack another hump in it so that one side did not stick down alot further than the other. If you have the tools, you could just make your own hump, or find one off a G body such as you listed above. I do believe that would work.
