1997 Z34...my introduction
Hi, I just wanted to post a few pics of my 97. I picked it up as a commuter as my other vehicle is a 1991 Cherokee with 4.5" lift.... it likes gas. So, I began to really like the Monte after just a day behind the wheel. I had no intentions of really putting any money into the car, but now....things may change in the future. I drive 100 miles each day on the highway and i must say, I'm impressed with the passing power of the 3.4 when I'm already at "highway speed". I have a few things that have to be done to it; the interior is intact and very nice...just dirty and possibly stained, so I will eventually give it a nice shampoo job. I have a dent in the passenger front quarter and I have to replace the fog light that came out due to the lovely plowing jobs in the residential NH areas. The paint job needs a good polishing which i am looking forward to once it warms up a bit. I must say, it's a bit intimidating posting the pics on a forum full of mint MC's with more detail hours than mine has driving hours so far. Anyway, here are a few pics of my Monte.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for sharing your pictures of your Monte.
No, not everyones Monte is in Show, or Top condition,
butthe MCF, I believe helps you always want to make it better.
[:-]
You have a beautiful Monte Carlo, and I'm sure
with a little love, she will be improved.
Oh, if you have pic's of your Cherokee with `lift,
we would love to see them : )
Good Luck with your Monte Carlo.

Here's a couple pic's of my XJ- 91, 4.0 AW4, NP242. 4.5" lift, 32" "pizza cutter"General Grabber AT2's (great tire by the way). The chrome rims were never supposed to happen, but my 16" Jeep rims didn't work out, the backspacing was much more than i wanted, so i needed a quick fix on the rims to get the15x31's mud tires off for driving on the road more often. So, I had to go with Ford Exploder rims. That is my money pit, I have replaced more parts on that than I care to admit...but it goes wherever i point it. The bottom of the Jeep comes to my knees, and I'm 6'3...the pic's don't look like it is very tall at all.
My plans were to repaint it this summer...but i'm kinda into the woodgrain...only91 and 92 were the production years for the Briarwood model.
Anyway, enough about the XJ on the Monte site.

I'm sure i'll be looking to do a few things in the future...one thing I would like is to be able to hold passing gear and the higher RPM's a bit longer.... without damaging the internals and doing a lot of screwing around with the transmission. I would assume this will require a PCM (or equivalent...haven't looked for the exact nomenclature just yet) reprogramming or a piggyback chip. If i wouldn't have just redone the exhaust on the Woody I would be looking to do it on the Monte...but it'll have to wait
So many wants and so little money to dedicate.
