Default Repairs

So since i've gotten my car, it's been having issues with rough idle, studdering, rough shifting, not shifting, pretty much everything. Now the only thing is, it wasn't constant, and it never even so much as flickered a Check engine light. Finally yesterday it stalled. Wouldn't start. Waited and waited, started again. It was running not bad, but couldn't go above 3000rpm. So I started to limp it towards a mechanics shop, and it died again, this time on a busy busy road(crowchild if you have ever been to calgary). So i sit there for an hour, waiting for my dad to take a look at it. He finally gets there, hops in, and it runs great, not a studder, nothing. So he gets it to my mechanics shop, we get it booked it. I watch as the mechanic works it over, checks everything. Finally it starts to rough idle, studder, and finally stalls. Hooks up a fuel pressure tester. I was running 2-8psi for fuel. So it was a bad fuel pump.

So I got the replaced, and they start it up. No studdering, 50psi for fuel, but its got a rough idle. They hook up a scanner, the alternator isn't charging the battery. Its on the verge of dying. So I get that replaced too. Grand total of 771.75 later, and my baby is running in top condition. Now to just save up enough and get a cat back exhuast. haha

Man that's rough. Any of us who have older Montes or even newer ones that are out of warranty know exactly what you have just went through. Blazerman3 just put like $1700 into his, I just put just under $1000 into mine...we understand. At least it is running now. Sometimes when you have an older vehicle, it takes some $$$ and TLC to get it running right.

Yeah. I was lucky. If i had bought the parts myself, they would have been 1200 just in parts here. Plus install which was a total of 3 hours for both. So like, 1400 if i paid full. Stupid cars. I love em, and i hate em. Haha. Oh well it just put off me getting my cat back exhaust and ported and polished upper and lower intake manifold.

Yeah, I'm not going to be doing any of that...I just did upper/lower intakes so why have them ported and polished just to do the gaskets again? lol. I'm not a racer and never will be...I like my car for what it is...a sport touring coupe. )
