How to get rid of knock?!
#31
Glad to be able to help. I've only seen one modded Monte, and it was a 400 hp CSC 6th gen. But there are boatloads of 3800's with aftermarket cams. Pretty much every one of them running lower than 13's in the 1/4 mile are cammed.

Can't wait to be added on to that list! lol here in mn montes aren't a big deal. If it's a built 3800 it's a gtp nine times outta ten. Really wish some of you guys would come out with your montes to show em what we're capable of though! slowly but surely my baby will get there!

Sorry to double post on this thread, but just re-read the thing; I'm currently seeing a little KR with my 3.1 pulley; generally the first run will be less than 1 degree, & if I make a second pass, I have seen as much as 3.5 KR at peek, just before it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. I was noticing that I'm currently running about 14 degrees of advance in timing;
I have a few thoughts on possibly reducing this KR, Comments are welcome!
1. convert K&N CAI to a fender wall one that will draw colder air
2. program PCM to add slightly more fuel at WOT
3. Run a colder T-stat (I still have stock one)
4. Go one step Colder Spark Plugs
5. add some higher octane fuel (ie, non leaded race fuel to bring up Octane rating a point or 2)
Any other ideas out there?
