Default Where are you getting parts

I have an 2003 SS that I need the trim piece that runs along the bottom of the window on the outside. I ordered the part from GM parts on line and they sent me one for the passenger side. I decided to keep it in case I need it for the passenger side. I went back to order another one for the driver door and the part is discontinued on their website. The car is a work car and has a lot of miles on it but I like the car.

This is the piece entire piece.

This end points towards the rear of the car.

This points towards the front of the car.

This points towards the rear of the car.

This is the entire piece. I broke this replacing the window regulator in the door and I didn’t even need to remove it.

The driver side is in fact discontinued. As unfortunate as this is, salvage yards are going to be your answer.

I live in Florida so a salvage yard really won’t be any help because the sun here destroys everything that’s not under some type of cover. Thanks for the reply though.

Sadly, all locations are going to suffer some situation. Could use a service like car-parts.com and see if you can get one from another location shipped. I have never seen those pieces removed from the car, perhaps it is possible to find replacement weather stripping to attach.

Okay, saw your pictures yesterday. Thought I would make it to my storage unit today. No luck, but will be there in the next day or 2. Pretty sure I have one or two, they come away from the door pretty easy. So I just snag decent appearing ones when I see them at the junk yard.

I have yet to remove that trim piece. But I have been tempted to see if I can find ones worth grabbing at my local salvage yards. I am a little unclear on how they remove. Is there one bolt/screw that hold them in? Can you share anything about the removal process?

Don’t worry about it, I have decided that the part is not that bad. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get new parts for the car was really my question.

I found these parts before I read your message. Anyway are these the parts you were asking about?
