Default Tire Question?!

i have a 2000 monte ss and my tire blew the other day due to a nail, so i got new tires on the front because the backs were good. A few days later, i got a quick leak due to dry rotting. I have 225 60/16 on the front and back. Could i put 225 55/16 on it to replace the fronts? because i have two that are sitting in my garage in good shape? Someone please help me out

Did you look up the recommended tire size for your year and rim size? I'm not sure on yours since my car has 17s but i'm pretty sure my tires were 225/55/17s

225/55 will throw your speedo off by 3%, which also would throw your odometer off.

Like mike said itll throw ur speedo & all that off but if money is tight go for em, you could put the 55s on the rear, it wont look as bad as u think it would lol

X2, if you have them you may as well throw them on the back until you can afford matching/proper sized tires.

If you were doing 60, your speedo would read 58, but then agan that is probably based off the front wheels so it shouldn't affect it if they went on the back. I could be wrong.

Another thing you'll have to contend with is the low tire pressure light being set due to the difference in tire rotation front versus rear. Not a big deal, but it could get annoying having to reset it all the time.
