6th Gen ('00-'05): sway bar
I noticed water coming outta my sway bar when I jacked the car up. Then upon further investigation I noticed a large crack in the bar. I found a solid sway bar kit on 1aauto.com for $100 that comes with a solid bar and bushings no new links tho. I am pretty handy with a car so I was wondering how hard would it be to replace this? Did anyone have experience with this?
It's a pretty straight forward job. Separate the steering shaft from the gearbox, then put the car up on jack stands supporting it under the frame/unibody. Remove passenger side wheel. Put a jack under the front of the subframe (engine cradle) and loosen (but do not remove) the two front subframe bolts. Lower the front of the subframe to gain clearance, then remove stabilizer bar frame mounts , links and slide bar out.
