Default Swapping Suspensions

I was talking to a co-worker the other day, telling him how I wanted to put sum springs in my '02 monte. He reminded me that he once owned a 1999 Pontiac Grand-Prix, in which he had the Eibach Pro Kit lowering spings.

I called my GM specialist friend and asked him what the difference was between the two cars, because I was under the inpression that the two cars where designed on the same chassis. He told me that if the fourth letter in the VIN was a "W", that the suspension set ups were the same in bith cars. Turns out they are the same!

So here's the deal. The Eibach pro kit for the two cars are different part numbers on Eibach's site. The monte springs set the car down 1.3" in the front and 1.0" in the rear. The Pontiac Grand Prix set up is 1" front AND rear.

So... What is the difference in the two. Any guesses??

I was thinkin about just puttin the Grand Prix springs in the front and letting the Stereo System that I plan to install in the near future to bring the back down a half inch or so. I can pick up the GP springs cheap, but the Monte springs i can only seem to find brandy new, which aren't terribly expensive, but savings are savings..

So what do you folks tihnk?? Anyone know if there IS a difference in the two suspension systems??

thanx guys! n Galls!!

Default RE: Swapping Suspensions

You know if the suspension is the same, you may as well get the GP springs....I would rather buy new personally because then there is no wear or tear on the parts....but that's just me. )
