Default shaking at 55mph-60mph in an 87ss

ok so first off my dad thinks this is just because it needs a high speed rim adjustment or something like that but at about 55mph or 60mph my 87ss shakes like alot but then if i increase my speed it doesnt matter just the 55-60mph range it used to be 65-70mph but it changed idk why that is its just that mph range its odd any clues on the problem?

probably just a wheel balance issue or if the car had been sitting for sum time on the tires a flat spost can acure where it has been sitting...id say probably just needs to be rebalance

no i can let go of the wheel and go perfectly straight and if there were flat spots why is it only shaking in the 55-60mph range and not higher or lower speeds

thats kinda odd that its not higher or but like i said probably just needs to be rebalance(hight speed alignment as u called it) is it comming from thr front end? does the wheel shake ?

your talking about getting your rims reconditioned becuase the tires will have to come off for it anyway...and then mounted back on and balence

I'd say have the wheels rebalanced or at least have a shop check to see if they are balanced.

classic symptom of a wheel being out of balance is vibration between 55-60 mph range. That's not to say it won't go straight if you let off the steering wheel. We're not talking about alignment here, just tire/wheel balance.-- there are actually 2 different parts to balance a wheel/tire combo-- in a nutshell- static balance balances the tire up/down, dynamic balance balances left/right. if you've thrown a weight, or even have excess rocks in your tread, you can throw off the balance in either direction...

now, there is the outside chance (though very small) that there is a belt starting to separate in a tire, but that usually results in a different feeling in the car, and a different 'womp-womp' sound at low speeds.
