just to let you know, i have the R1 concepts E line slotted rotors on all 4 and also bought the hawk HPS pads with it. think the total with shipping was like 375. well worth it. intimidator is right, you wont need anything beyond slotted. plus, you wont wanna deal with the headache and the cost of having to replace a drilled rotor after its cracks or warps. im very happy with this setup i have, only thing i think i'll do is get stainless brake lines. for the price, no body else even comes close for all 4 rotors/pads.

I have the cross drilled rotors and Hawk pads. They have approximately 50,000 miles on them and no problems, but it's time to replace them. If your friend can get me some rotors and pads, I'll be eternally grateful. I think I'm going with the slotted rotors this time, but stay with the Hawk pads. Keep us posted.

And the stainless brake lines are WELL worth the money. Takes all the spongy feeling out of the pedal. I think I paid $100 for them.

rchurch, are your rotors R1's?

I wonder if the SS brakes lines for your generation will fit my 2006. Hm...

No, I forget the brand (I'm assuming R1 is a brand?). I remember it was letters, and I bought them on PFYC.com. It's been awhile and at my age the memory ain't what it used to be. They say the second thing to go is your memory, and I forget what the first thing is. I've been happy with them, no cracking or warping and at times I was pretty hard on them. I especially like the Hawk pads. I just want to replace them instead of having them turned. My son has the car now and I want to get it in a shape where he doesn't have to do any major mechanical work on it. I've serviced the trans, flushed the radiator, put a new belt on it that drives the a/c and power steering, put new tires on it, and now want to replace the brakes. After that will be new struts and then I'm done and he should be good until the car is worn out. It now has about 94,000 miles and I hope it goes to 150,000 or more. He shouldn't have to do anything but oil changes and another trans flush or two.

That's a great car to give to your son. Good luck with it!

How noisy are the hawk pads versus the stock pads?

When I had them on my old car they had a lil squeak on occasion, but it wasn't bothersome because I knew they performed so much better than stock.

I've never noticed any noise. Doesn't mean there hasn't been any, just that if there was some noise it wasn't enough to notice it. What I have noticed is ALOT less brake dust from the Hawks vs. the originals.
