Default Rim cleaning issues

I have been having some problems maintaining the shine of my rims after polishing. They become dull and have white residue from something on them after a month or so. Any suggestions on a fix or an excellent rim sealant?

What do you use to clean them now? Members have had a lot of luck with the Mothers ball.

It sounds like the wheels are oxidizing because they are not clear coated. After cleaning them try putting a coat of wax on them and see if that helps.

Edit: I've never tried this stuff, but it might be worth checking into also:

Ok thanks for the advice. I will try a higher grade wax and see if that does the trick. Have you had good luck with eagle 1 because i bought the interior cleaner and i wasnt satisfied...it could be personal taste also.

I've never used a spray on wheel protectant so I don't know if or how well it will work. I wax my wheels, but they are chrome plated so I'm not battling oxidation. If you aren't fond of Eagle's products you may want to do a search and see if any other companies offer a similar wheel protection product.

I use nothing but White Diamond on my polished stuff! Claims to seal but idk for sure. Go ahead and call me crazy but after using this polish I used NXT2.0 (a "wax", actually more so a sealant than a wax) and have had no issues with dulling or surface rust. Stuff seems expensive but WARNING it goes a long ways! I do all of the stuff in my engine bay with a few drops!

Here are the areas I use it on..

Might just need to polish a little more.

I spent about 1.25 hours PER rim.
