Default Problem steering after trans rebuild.

New bee here to this forum. long story shot.i just bought my son a 2000 SS. I new it needed trans work so i took it to a trans shop and they did a total rebuild. Well trans and motor run awsome now but since i got it back the steering isnt right.
It used to be tight, smooth, no play and centered.
Now it pulls to the left and there is play in the steering wheel BUT ONLY from center turning left(same side it pulls to) no play at all center to right.
Do the steering components get moved/removed during a trans rebuild?
Could they have put something on backwards or upside down???
He said i need to have it aligned after such work. Is that true??

The steering linkage would have been disconnected to lower the cradel to get the trans out. I would take it back ASAP and have them fix it. Obviously they did not reinstall everything correctly if you didnt have the problem before you took it in.

I had a problem after my trans was replaced. But it was a quick fix. Nothing was seriously wrong, just when my car was centered the steering wheel wasn't, there are alignment pins in the cradle and if they don't take the time to align them properly you will have a problem.

Just take it back let them know and they should fix it no problem.
