Thats true you do run that risk of peeling it if you do not tape it right and are not careful with it. I think that the black rims on my white car would look good. I want to keep the same colors. Thats why i flat blacked my billet grill the other day and it came out great. Thats where i got the idea to paint my rims since the grill came out so nice and i also LOVE the fact that if it is not good you can peel it right off. One concern is if it is that easy to peel off how is it gonna fair on daily road use with the elements beating it and such.....hmmmmm

If you peel the tape off before it dries, you greatly lessen the risk of peeling the paint up when you unmask. When I paint at work I outline everywhere that meets the painted surface with a piece of 3/4" tape and about half and hour after Im finished I peel the outline off.
