I still have the sales brochure from when I bought this car new and it states the weights of each model.

LS - 3354lbs
LT - 3396lbs
LTZ - 3443lbs
SS - 3489lbs

So an SS is heavier but it maybe spread over the whole chassis and not just concentrated over the front. Afterall, an SS would likely have dual exhaust, leather, sunroof, premium sound, big wheels/tires, etc. Anyway, I have to tell you all that it does indeed drive very well.

I've always digged slammed rides on stock rollers. But you're right that bigger rolling stock is in my future but I really gotta get the right stance before I trade up to wider 18s. Stance first, everything else is second.

i agree with silver i wouldnt cut the coil. not for saftey though i wouldnt want to **** up the ride. post a pic of your car. preferably a side pic. i also think the SS wheels would be lighter even though they are larger since theyre aluminum unless yours had aluminum wheels. and the sunroof was an option on the ss.

 

care to elaborate? i need to lower the rear of my car about 3/4" on eibach springs.
Why i have to... i had to raise the rear spring perch's on the struts to clear my rim/tire combo. i could not have mounted the wheel otherwise

 

Yeah mine has the stock 16" aluminum wheels. The wheel/tire weight wouldn't affect the weight the springs carry anyway but it definitely accounts for some of the extra weight of the SS.

 

didn't you have 20"..if so i can see why you have to raise up and are your struts stock btw?

 

they are right...the springs will take a month or two to settle. i wouldent worry bout it.
