Default looking to get 20's

So I am looking to get some 20's, however, doing a little research...I have found that it may not be as easy as just "bolting them on". On here I have read that you have to do something with your transmission and adjust the speedometer? Adjusting the speedometer makes sense because your changing the rim size, but whats the deal with the tranny?

Any advice you guys have would be great as I am new to all this.

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah I have heard the thing about adjusting speedo but I admit when I ride my 20s in spring/summer I don't adjust anything. It may affect your speed by like 3-4 mph not enough for the hassle to me. Not sure if you plan on rolling em year round but if not you would have to change ur speedo every spring.

If your overall diameter is the same size then you don't have to change the speedometer.

For instance, if you have 16" rims and 6" of tire that is an overall diameter of 22", so if you have a 20" Rims and a 2" tire then you have the same diameter and your speedo won't be off.

The transmission just has to work harder because the rims are heavier and add more rotational forces so if your have a weak transmission already, prepare for the worst.
