Default Stronger Rear Coil Spring

On my 2000 Monte Carlo 3.8L V6, I added about 600 lbs to my back end /trunk area with stereo equipment and need a stronger coil spring. I used the rubber donut spacer, but it is only a temporary fix. I don't want air suspension. I cannot find any info on a stronger coil spring. Does anyone have specs for the OEM spring so I can find a similar one, but with more tension. It would be great if someone already knows where to get a stronger coil spring.

I contacted Koni Coil Over Spring company and they said they didn't have anything to help me and I would need a stronger coil spring. Maybe I'll try out those springs you suggested. If not, it's only a couple hundred for the springs. Those $2,000-4,000 performance suspensions are not worth it. I just need a low price strong spring. Hopefully the ones you recommend are strong enough. I am adding five 70 pounds kinetik batteries, two 80 pound Soundstream subwoofers, the 9 cubic foot MDF enclosure for it, 5 20 pound amps, and probably 40 pounds worth of 8 pairs of component speakers and four 8" subwoofers for midbass (everything soundstream) and a 30 pound fiberglass enclosure for the components. I will remove the back seat for my encolsure so that will save weight and I will not have a spare tire or jack.

cool I have a 6 cube mdf box 2 15" kicker l7s 2 extra batteries 2 layers of sound deadening 3 amps and no spare tire ether and it did good for me the only other thing I could find was to air bag struts for the back of the car ant that was going to cost me $1899 just for the rear of the car so I under stand what you are saying and good luck man sounds like you are going to have 1 hell of a system you will have to post a build log on this system I cant wait to see it !!

Ok, I will post it. I'm actually in the design state of it. What I found that really quiets the car is sound deadening like dynamat, accumate, etc then the second layer is sound/heat insulation fron JC whitney, but cane be found half the price elsewhere. When you knock on the outside of your car there is not ting, unlike the tar and alunimum dynamt stuff. I use both. My build logs for my current Monte Carlo system and my 2010 Camaro systems are on wowelectronics.com under custom installs. I work there and put my cars up. My camaro has very detail build on it including videos linked to youtube.

I found a better website for custom springs. springworks.com will custom make a spring for my 2010 camaro, I am seeing if they will make me a couple for my monte carlo that will hold 800 lbs that I will be adding.

Yep, Springworks said they would make rear coil springs for my 2000 3.8L monte carlo SS that will hold the 800 lbs I'm adding for $390 plus $56 for shocks. The springs are sagging anyways. The car is 11 years old and current stereo system weighs about 400 lbs and it has the stock springs with a donut rubber spacer. It lasted about 6 years. I hope this thread helps anyone else that wants heavy duty springs for their car.
