High Polished 5th Gen Machinefaced Rims
Well this is something I have wanted to do for a long time now, well ever since I had my 1998 Lumina LTZ with the machined faced wheels. I bought a set of slightly damaged machine faced wheels for $100 bucks, one has a slight bend on the lip and one has a scratch on the face. I took them today to a guy who does rim repair and polishing. He said he can fix them, strip them and high polish them for about a grand for the set. I think that isnt bad for the amount of work to be done on them, and it still puts me at about a final cost of just under $300 per wheel when im all said and done. That isnt bad for a set of GM wheels that are restored better than new.
What do you guys think of this?? I mean this is what I want, been dreaming of this for 10 years now lol. Here is a pic I have of a set in high polished.

I like the look of polished wheels, but I think that price is a bit steep. I forget exactly how much I paid to have my blower polished, but I want to say it was under $300 from a super rough texture to a mirror finish- and that thing had all kinds of crazy angles and edges- I'd bet you'd have less time polishing all 4 of those wheels than doing just 1 M90. Maybe you could get an estimate somewhere else for comparison purposes?
