on the opinion of camaros section...
i think a 98 and newer v8 camaro or firebird, this would have an ls1 motor, packs about the best bang for the buck. stock or modded. you could probly buy a beat up 98 for as much, or less, than it would cost you in mods to get your monte to run with a stock ls1 camaro.
while you could use one as a daily driver, i wouldnt recommend it.
while were going down this road, heres another option...
buy an old sportbike, i've got about $2k in mine, its not even a sportbike, its only a street/sport/touring (interceptor) and it would smoke a stock ls1 camaro in a 1/4mi.
for $10k you could get a bike to run in the high 9s.
