Noticed this over the last two weeks; there is a very faint grinding/buzzing sound coming from behind the dash, like behind the steering wheel. It can only be heard when driving slow so there is little road noise and with the radio turned down.

Seems to come and go randomly and seems to be worse when turning left; like down a parking lot aisle. This morning I noticed a faint squeal along with the grinding noise, but the squeal went away.

I recently had the struts and shocks all replaced before the noise stated, so I took the car back there concerning this noise; and of course they couldnt hear anything. I noticed the noise as I was driving back home from the shop. I have searched through past post for information on this noise, but seems like this noise hasnt been covered before.


Any help or thoughts on this is greatly appreciated. Im thinking about going to another shop to see if they xan hear the noise and diagnose it.

 

Wheel bearing possibly....

 

Tell them to specifically check your front wheel bearings. John could be right with his info.

 

Just a heads up, a wheel bearing being bad can make noise long before it has play. Mine made grinding noises 6 monthes before i could wiggle it
