I tried cutting my stock springs on my 96 LS and it finally shelled out my strut cartridges.I finally order a set of intrax springs from summit and after they came I cut 6" off the front springs and found that the ride is still great and the stance is what I wanted.

DON"T DO IT!!! I did this to a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire I had, it cause more damage than anything else, don't bother. Just order the springs, and while your at it, order up some new and improved struts to got with it. Lowered springs and stock struts don't ride well. Best advice I can give ya.

I've got the eibach springs and KYB struts on my '02. It made a tremendous difference in the ride (much firmer) and looks. I lowered it approximately 2". I'm really happy with it.
