my bad my daily driver isnt concered with 20 lb's.

are convertables not as fast as coupes? i know they have to be strenghend at the frame to compinsate for the lost structure up top.

i had this guy come up to me yesterday at best buy and tell me i had a "nas car" lol, mountainfoke are funny.

Just because you don't care as a consumer doesn't mean the engineers at GM weren't concerned with it when they designed the car. I'm just saying- adding that 20 lbs you're talking about to the trunk is totally different then adding it to the suspension.

Even on a car that never sees a racetrack, extra weight in the unsprung areas adds extra intertia to the assembly when you hit bumps, and so forth:

How is this relevant to the topic at all? Depending on the design- a convertible can be as quick as a coupe. Sure on a regular passenger car designed with a structural roof- then obviously you need to make up for that strength lost from removing the roof. But with some of the more exotic cars- designed to be convertibles or removable tops from the start- you can make the roof a non-structural piece, so it doesn't matter if it has a fixed roof, or convertible one (and hence doesn't need extra support).
