Default 06 Tire Pressure Moniter problem

OK guys & dolls, need some help. My 06 Monte LTZ had the low tire light come on at times. Sometimes it read no pressure in left front, sometimes it read no pressure in right rear. All I would get was 2 bars (--) where the pressure should be. I pretty much ignored it as i've heard that sometimes these sensors get false readings. BUT- the last time i went to the local tire store to get my tires rebalanced, the technican saw the 'Check Tire Pressure Moniter System' light on. He said he could reset the tires and fix the problem, so I said go for it! BIG MISTAKE! Now none of the tires read any pressures and everytime the car starts the warning sign is on the DIC. Mechanic says I need to have the one bad wheel sensor replaced before the other 3 good sensors will read. Sounds fishy to me. But he tells me that once you reset the system, all the sensors must be good in order for any of them to work. Is he pulling my chain?

Today stopped by the local Discount Tire shop, and told them my story. They thought the other guy was blowing smoke, until they tried to reset the sensors. Bottom line - I ended up driving out the same as when I drove in. No sensors will read. Discount guys are scratching their heads. The did get all the sensors to 'read' on their little hand held device except the right front, which they think has a dead battery and needs replacing.

What do you guys recommend?

Take it to the dealer. With your car being a 2006 they should be able to fix it. I believe there is a service bulletin on this exact thing. If you also have crappy distance with your remote start/keyless entry system, it's all related. They need to replace some kind of computer management system in the car.

Recently took mine in for exactly that problem. Right front sensor reading --. Since my original warrenty had ran out, it was covered under my GMPP warrenty, but cost me $100 for the deductible. Part runs about $38 for the sensor plus the labor of about an hours time, so I guess I broke about even. Part number for sensor is 15268606 if you want to attempt to replace it yourself.
