My dad just got a 1970 Monte Carlo 454 SS last week. It was a big buy for him but he wanted it and he just showed it to me yesterday. We are going to restore it a little but it runs as it is now and wow it's fast. I just took it down a back road and didn't have any trouble at all spinning the tires shifting into second gear. I'll hopefully get you guys some pictures soon.

 

Congrats man! We have a 72 Monte triple black - only a 350 but it's still a head turner! I can't wait to see pics of your dads
