Afternoon everyone, been way too long since I posted in the blog let alone on the forum. Got a promotion at work (assistant manager) and have been extremely busy ever since. I still have Carloss, but have also picked up an 06 325i that I got for a steal, I don't have pics on my work computer to upload but I will see what I can do. Always wanted a bmw and this deal was too good to pass up.
Evening everyone! Got a week and a half off work. Time to enjoy the last of the warm weather before the long 5-6 months of winter weather. Just noticed I got my 10 year badge from the forum. Next to my avatar pic. Man, I feel old now.

Good morning guys.
We got some updated renderings for the project that is to be Detroit's tallest building (Michigan's tallest as well). The new tower is 800 ft tall which is 73 ft taller than the Renaissance Center, currently the tallest. Amazon is also considering Detroit for it's 2nd headquarters.

Tell me about the Computer aided renderings, back in the 70's when I did renderings they may take a week or so to complete and it was all hand drawn in perspective and to make them look more realistic you had to have 3 and sometimes 4 Vantage Points. This is far beyond what we could do back then. Pretty cool.
Very cool looking building. And living across the river in Windsor, it'll make for an interesting change in the Detroit skyline. Just wondering what all that glass is going to do for reflecting the sun onto the rest of downtown Detroit.

Typically it's modeled in a modeling program or a BIM (building information modeling) program and then can be loaded into a rendering program to add realistic features such as lighting, reflections, people, etc. I deal with this at my job almost everyday.

Yes it will definitely change the skyline, something that hasn't been done since 1993 when One Detroit Center was completed. There is talk of a observation deck on top and it looks like maybe some greenery on the roof. There's another tall one (35 stories) in the planning stages too that would also add to Detroit's skyline change...

Good morning guys, hope everyone had a good weekend. Less than 4 weeks til I get married!
Yesterday I did my last car show for the year - Milford's 33rd An. Got there at 6am to get in line and was there with some Michigan Monte Carlo Club members and Tadd also came out with his Camaro. A total of 380 cars in the show. I ended up taking first place in my class, '1995-Present Stock', and Tadd got runner up in the same class. Probably 10-15 cars in our class.
